Preschool

So, I guess the biggest thing for this past week is that Jessica started preschool on Friday. We have her enrolled in Rainbows Preschool, which is run by a family friend (whom Jessica calls "Grandma Kim"). So, Friday morning I got us up and ready to go for her 8:30 class. Which, honestly may have been a little early. Oh well. I guess I just get to get into a better routine for myself. ;) However, I was able to even get in a trim of Jessica's bangs before we left, which was a good thing, because they were about an inch and a half past her eyebrows. Ooh! And I paused us long enough to get a picture of Jessica on her first day of preschool. :D
All ready for school in the outfit she picked out. Despite the shirt being huge, she loves it.
The backpack has a story too. It's an Avengers backpack, and she chose it herself. I took her to Coscto, and they had Hello Kitty, Minnie Mouse, Disney Princesses, Cars, and Avengers. And I showed her all of them and let her choose. I'm so proud. ;)
She had a great time at preschool, and loved that it was at Grandma Kim's house. However, when we got back, after having lunch, and while I was rocking Jacob to sleep for his nap, she went to the bathroom. After I laid him in his crib, I went in there to find the hair cutting kit on the floor, opened. I looked at Jessica, and she'd cut off about another inch and a half from most of her bangs. they now barely escape sticking straight out. Luckily I was in a fairly good mood at the time, so I was able to look at the positives, at least it was just her bangs, and at least she didn't get hurt at all.
And, one more story that I remember from this week. (with a little prefacing) My mom has a small dog, a toy poodle - shih tzu mix. This dog jumps up on Jacob all the time, every time we visit. He LOVES Jacob. (and also loves Jacob's binky, but that's a different story. Anyway, this past Wednesday Jacob started getting his own back.
"Soft Pillow"

Jacob would chase after Charlie, and then just plop down on top of him, and lay there as long as Charlie would let him. And then Jacob would chase after him again and do the same thing. It was hilarious to watch, and to watch Charlie start trying to hide from Jacob, rather than the other way around.

Roller Coaster and school

This is how life has felt to me recently. A huge roller coaster of emotion. And sadly, mostly down. I'm working on it, but it is slow going. We went on a trip to Washington to visit family a few weeks ago, (got back 3 weeks ago) and recovery from that has been a really slow process.
Wow, it's been so long since I've written, that I don't even know what to write.  Well, I guess first of all, Nathaniel has been looking for work in Washington. For a few years we've felt like that is where we're supposed to be, but the timing hasn't been quite right. Well, the timing is now feeling like its lining up, so we're looking. He has an interview tomorrow, that I feel is quite promising (even though Nathaniel doesn't). I guess we'll see what happens there.
Here at home, Jessica and Jacob have started acting up more than usual, to where I'm a wreck pretty much every day by the time Nathaniel gets home. Luckily, he does help a lot when he does get home, so that helps me regain some semblance of sanity.

The other thing that is giving me sanity is my school. I try not to talk too much about my school on here, because I want this to remain a family blog, not an advertisement for my school and myself. However, I've reached a big milestone in my schooling! I've now completed enough processes (emotion healing sessions) to start my clinicals! So, what does that mean? Actually, that means that I need help. I need to give people "processes", and I need some of them to be paid processes (the money goes to the school). How to describe what that is... Maybe use someone else's words to start me off. My mom took this same course last year, and this is what she said about it.

"By understanding how our minds work and how decisions we have made in the past affect our present time, we can take charge of our own programming. We can correct our scripts and renew our minds."   For me (mom), understanding how my mind works includes a realization that I have been living life with behaviors based on decisions I don't even remember making: decisions that were made from a very young, immature frame of reference; decisions that are a natural byproduct of experiencing life. Identifying and sorting out all those decisions and the resulting behaviors is helping me get to the bottom of, as well as overcome, the last remnants of my depression.

With a process, we use a variety of methods, including role playing and Neural Linguistic Programming to go back into our past and find where we made a decision based on our experience at that time (which when we're small children, isn't very much experience) and to give that small child more information to show that maybe that decision wasn't full truth and we don't have to live life from that belief anymore.
For example, I've been struggling with some self-sabotaging behavior, so nothing seems to quite be working as well as it should. I decided to see what was up with that, and we determined that at 2 years old, I had heard the phrase "contention is of the devil" often enough, that I made the decision that I was evil because I got angry. (And if I was evil, then I didn't deserve to have anything work well for me, I wasn't worthy of it) So we were able to show that little 2-year-old that it was okay to have anger, emotions are not the problem, and that I definitely was not evil, and so was worthy of having goodness and health in my life.

So, I am asking for some help, and I will try to keep it to this once. (or maybe once more, much closer to my graduation) Processing is for anyone of all ages. I can give processes to adults, children, and even babies. They don't have to be able to talk. I can come to you, we can do one over the phone, or I can schedule a room at my school, and we can meet there. I am willing to give each individual one free process, and then after that they will be $25 each.
