For the first few weeks I spend a fair amount of time in the kitchen. We didn't have tons of money to be able to buy gifts for everyone so I made goodie plates. What better to do on a cold winter's day than make candies right?
Nathaniel's whole family came into town, which was really cool. We hadn't seen a lot of them, if any of them, since August, so it was great fun to have everyone down. Mama and Papa were just in for the weekend of Christmas, but everyone else was here longer, and we got to spend a lot of time with people, and it was great fun.
We also got our first family pictures, and the first portraits of Jessica. They turned out very very cute, but I wish I had more money to be able to buy the negatives CD, but oh well. We did get some of the cutest pictures printed.
Christmas was fabulous. It was our first Christmas together, and I loved it. It was really busy though. That's okay though. The whole 3 weeks from Christmas until this past weekend have been insane. We've been running all over the place spending time with people.
New Year's was actually just another day for us, though we did get to spend New Year's Eve (day) with Oscar and Carley, which was great fun.
This past weekend was possibly the busiest of all, and it had it's ups and downs, but it was pretty good. Friday, Billy came home from his mission. That was awesome. My favorite part had to have been when Billy first was greeting Jessica, and he asked (with Mom standing right there) where she got her red hair from. That was great. Okay, that wasn't the favorite, it was second. The favorite was when Billy first got off the elevator, stripped off his backpack and almost tackled Mom. We then spent the day together with the family talking, seeing Billy getting released, going out to eat, it was great. The next day, our friend Erin was getting her endowments out, so we went to that in the morning, and then went bowling after that with my family. Bowling and dinner that night were in celebration of my Mom's birthday. It had been a week ago, but we decided to wait so that Billy could celebrate with us. Sunday was Stake Conference, and then dinner with my family again. Again that was fun. Then we came home and found the flooding, but that will be in the next post.
Here is the picture collage of the past month.
